Jamaica Food Recipesjamaican Beef in hot Pepper Sauce

ingredients
1½ lb boneless beef sirloin cut into strips
1 cup sweet peppers chopped
½ tbsp scotch bonnet pepper minced
¼ cup garlic chopped
¼ cup white wine (optional)
¾ tbsp ginger minced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp allspice
¼ tsp cinnamon powder
½ tsp Jamaican hot pepper sauce
1 tbsp margarine
1 tbsp vegetable oil
½ cup onion chopped
1 cup cooked rice
preparation
1. Place the chopped sweet pepper, scotch bonnet pepper, garlic, wine, ginger, salt, pepper, allspice, cinnamon, and hot pepper sauce in a blender on medium-high speed until smoothly blended.

Heat the margarine and the oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until hot.

Add the beef and cook until meat is browned on all sides.

Remove the beef set aside and keep warm.
5.
Add the onion and more sweet pepper strips to the skillet and cook until brown.
6.
Return the beef to the skillet and add the blender mixture.
7.
Heat to boiling, then reduce the heat and simmer uncovered until the beef is hot and the sauce is slightly thickened.
8.
Serve over rice.
