Bananas are mistakenly named as "trees" due to its bulk, form and composition. These are actually herbaceous plants under the family of Musaceae.
Two kinds of bananas are cultured in the sultry areas. One is sweetly eaten in raw or vastly included in our desserts. Second, these bananas are only prevalent in South-East Asia, India and Jamaica, named as plantains. They’re commonly used in cooking vegetable-based dishes.
History of Bananas
Nurturing banana was dated probably back in 8000 BC and real evidence was found in Papua New Guinea. The location where Bananas were grown was in the Western Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Many bananas are still cultivated in other countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Originally bananas were discussed in books and were in the written content of the Buddhist just about 600 BC. In 327 BC, a voyager found the bananas in India who was named Alexander the Great. Just back around 200 AD, the earliest plantations was known to be in China.
The word banana originates in West Africa. The Islamic conquerors brought the fruit to the Middle East and afterwards it landed to Africa by the Arab Merchants.
All credits to the Portuguese immigrants who pioneered the banana cultivation in the Atlantic Islands, Brazil and western Africa, it has blasted in most areas of the world.
Sadly, the fruit did not become popular in Europe until the Victorian Era but only through commercial business.
Tip and Techniques-Growing Bananas
The cultivation requires around nine months for a Banana plant to turn out being fully grown and it must have a great amount of heed for it to be able to be raised to its complete use.
The growth span of the plant is more or less than 25 years. It develops starting in the stems which matures from the earth up termed rhizomes and it created suckers that advance from the main stem of the plant.
The pseudostem grows about 2-8 meters and the leaves reach up to 3.5 meters. A single cluster of bananas is produced of in each pseudostem. It dies and supplanted by a fresh one.
It requires a lot of water, enough fertilizer, rich sunlight and humid atmosphere for it to grow properly.
The land has to be loaded with nutrients and somewhat tart. It must adept to maintain the dampness so that roots filled with so much water will die quickly. The plant matures fast when the precise component is there and it’s pleasing to the eyes when they are growing.
